Each week, Saint Joseph's will recognize one of its student-athletes for their outstanding performances on the playing field. Below is the list of weekly award winners for 2016-17.

August 29, 2016 - Anna Willocks (Field Hockey): Tallying three goals over the opening two games of the season, sophomore Anna Willocks garnered Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors after helping SJU to a 1-1 record to open the year.

September 5, 2016 - Emily Gingrich (Women's Soccer): The senior midfielder became the Hawks' all-time leader in goals (35) and points (84) with a pair of goals in SJU's 2-1 win over Northeastern.

September 12, 2016 - Michael O'Brien (Golf): In his first collegiate event, the SJU freshman captured medalist honors and helped the Hawks to a team victory at the Bucknell Invitational.

September 19, 2016 - Tim Stierle (Men's Tennis): Competing in the first singles flight at the SJU Invitational, the Hawks' sophomore captured the event title and would also advance to the consolation finals of the first doubles flight.

September 26, 2016 - Anna Willocks (Field Hockey): The SJU sophomore tallied four goals and two assists on the week en route to garnering conference recognition.

October 3, 2016 - Matt Crawford (Men's Soccer): The junior midfielder tallied both goals in Saint Joseph's 2-0 win over St. Bonaventure in its Atlantic 10 opener.

October 10, 2016 - Matt Crawford (Men's Soccer): Junior midfielder Matt Crawford factored into four of SJU's five scoring plays last week to be selected the Atlantic 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

October 17, 2016 - Dakota Mills (Women's Soccer): Tallying three goals and two assists en route to helping the Hawks to two wins, the sophomore midfielder earned A-10 Offensive Player of the Week honors.

October 24, 2016Pepa Serrano (Field Hockey): The SJU freshman tallied three goals and an assist on the week, including the game-winner in overtime versus Massachusetts.

October 31, 2016 - Field Hockey, Women's Soccer: Both the SJU field hockey team and women's soccer team captured the A-10 regular season title and top seed for their respective conference tournaments.

November 7, 2016 - Dakota Mills (Women's Soccer): named to the A-10 All-Championship Team, the sophomore forward capped the year with new program records for goals (18) and points (41) in a season.

November 14, 2016Shavar Newkirk (Men's Basketball): The junior guard earned A-10 Co-Player of the Week honors after scoring a career-best 28 points in the Hawks' season-opening win over Toledo.

November 21, 2016 - Jimmy Daniels (Men's Cross Country) - Leading SJU to silver at the IC4A Championship, the Hawks senior capped his collegiate cross country career in a big way as the captain placed fourth in a field of 77 racers.

November 28, 2016 - Chelsea Woods (Women's Basketball) - The SJU junior garnered Co-Big 5 Player of the Week honors after averaging 15 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.67 assists per game.

December 5, 2016 - Barren McCoy (Men's Track) - As a member of the 4x400 relay that finished first at the Jack Pyrah Invitational, the junior also qualified for the IC4As in the 500m with a second place finish.

December 12, 2016Shavar Newkirk (Men's Basketball): The Big 5 Co-Player of the Week scored a game-high 27 points and netted the game-winning three-point play to lead Saint Joseph’s to a 72-71 come-from-behind win over local rival Drexel

December 19, 2016 - Sarah Veilleux (Women's Basketball): The Hawks' sophomore posted a career-best 19 points versus NJIT and followed with a season-best 10 rebounds to go with eight points at Drexel.

December 26, 2016 - Shavar Newkirk (Men's Basketball): Posting a team-high 24 points, the SJU guard helped lift the Hawks to a 92-63 win over Lafayette.

January 2, 2017 - Adashia Franklyn (Women's Basketball): The starting forward set a new program and Big 5 single-game record for rebounds, grabbing 25 at Richmond on December 31.

January 9, 2017 - Phil Martelli (Men's Basketball): The Hawks' head coach earned his 200th Atlantic 10 victory on January 7 as his SJU squad topped Fordham, 70-55.

January 16, 2017 - Torey Doaty (Men's Track): The senior captured the 400m in 50.92 at the Lehigh Angry Birds Challenge.

January 23, 2017 - Dave Garton (Men's Track): The SJU junior flew to a collegiate-best 800m time of 1:53.40 to place fourth overall and to qualify for the IC4A Championships and was a member of the winning 4x800 relay team at the Penn 8 Team Select.

January 30, 2017 - Steve Thompson (Men's Track): Running at the Penn State National Open, the Hawks' junior won the individual 800m and had a hand in the unseeded Distance Medley Relay title.

February 6, 2017 - Torey Doaty (Men's Track): The Hawks' senior captain turned in a pair of IC4A-qualifying victories, including a win in the 500m, at the 13th Annual Giegengack University. 

February 13, 2017 - Charlie Brown (Men's Basketball): The freshman forward earned his third A-10 Rookie of the Week honor after averaging 16.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games.

February 20, 2017 - Steve Thompson (Men's Track): The junior won the 800m at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships.

February 27, 2017 - Dominic Cuoci (Baseball): The junior infielder hit .462 with two home runs and nine runs batted in on the week en route to being named Big 5 Player of the Week.

March 6, 2017 - Pat Vanderslice (Baseball): Selected as Big 5 Pitcher of the Week, Vanderslice matched his career-high with eight strike outs over seven innings versus Connecticut.

March 13, 2017 - T.J. Jones (Men's Lacrosse): The senior goalkeeper was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week after going 1-1 on the week and making 26 saves.

March 20, 2017 - Nora McCallion (Women's Lacrosse): The senior attacker reached her 100th career goal versus nationally-ranked Duke and finished the week with eight points.

March 27, 2017 - Varsity 8 (Men's Rowing): The Varisty 8 of -  c- Caroline Bird; 8- Matt Ladd; 7- Keenan Perry; 6- Garren Best; 5- Riley McGwin; 4- David Wong; 3- Slam Dunkley; 2- Thomson Rymer; 1- Claudio Recchilungo - finished first at the Murphy Cup.

April 3, 2017 - Tim Stierle (Men's Tennis): The SJU sophomore posted wins at No. 1 singles versus Atlantic 10 foes St. Bonaventure and George Mason, and teamed with Kyle Chalmers for a top flight doubles win against the Bonnies.

April 10, 2017 - Torey Doaty (Men's Track): The Hawks' senior cruised through the 400m hurdles in an IC4A-qualifying time at the Rider Invitational and was a member of the 4x400m relay that won gold.

April 17, 2017 - Molly Kapala (Softball): The SJU rookie hit .500 and helped SJU to a 5-0 mark on the week, including eight runs batted in at Delaware.

April 24, 2017 - Varsity 8 (Men's Rowing): The Varisty 8 of -  c- Caroline Bird; 8- Matt Ladd; 7- Keenan Perry; 6- Garren Best; 5- Slam Dunkley; 4- David Wong; 3- Riley McGwin; 2- Thomson Rymer; 1- Claudio Recchilungo - finished first at the Bergen Cup.
