• Saint Joseph's (1-1) split its opening weekend, taking a 4-1 result at Temple before falling at sixth-ranked Maryland, 2-1.

• On Friday night, freshman Sara Hayes opened the scoring with her first collegiate goal before classmate Emily Henry bagged two of her own and junior Anna Willocks netted a goal and an assist as the Hawks kicked off the season with a 4-1 win over the Owls.

• Two days later, after a tense first half saw the sides enter the locker rooms without a goal, Willocks converted a penalty stroke early in the second half to give the Hawks the lead at Maryland.  Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the Terrapins equalized and then went on to find a winner in the final five minutes of a 2-1 game.

• With her three-point night at Temple, Willocks became just the third Hawk to reach the 100-point plateau for her career (Linda Buonanno, Nicole Antonini).  She ranks third in program history in goals and points, and 10th in assists.

• Willocks leads the Hawks with five points on two goals and an assist, while Henry's two goals rank her second in points.

• Sophomore Victoria Kammerinke made eight saves in the game at Maryland and has posted a 1.50 goals against average through the season's first two games.

• Villanova (0-2) opens its home slate on Friday after dropping a pair of road contests last weekend.  The Wildcats at Longwood in overtime, 2-1, before suffering a 5-1 defeat at VCU.

• Allison Sayia and Megan Vermeil have each tallied a goal for VU, while Emma McLaughlin and Abby Siana added an assist apiece.

• Both Erika Miller and Jordyn Clipstone have seen time in the cage; Miller started both contests and made 11 saves, while Clipstone held VCU scoreless and made one save in a 16-minute relief appearance on Sunday.

• Last season, the Hawks turned a scoreless first half into a 4-0 win over the Wildcats at Ellen Ryan Field.
