PHILADELPHIA (6/27/02)-Saint Joseph's University women's cross country/track head coach Kevin Quinn announces the signing of five recruits for the 2002-03 season. The Hawks are coming off a year in which they finished fifth in cross country and eighth in both indoor and outdoor track at the Atlantic 10 Championships. Marcy DeLorenzo (Bensalem, PA) arrives on Hawk Hill with an impressive record from her prep career at Archbishop Ryan High School. She was a four-time, first-team All-Catholic League performer in cross country and one-time all-star in outdoor track. DeLorenzo also owns the second fastest cross country time in Ryan history. Kate Hoban (Malvern, PA) is a sprinter from Villa Maria Academy. She took second in the 100 at the Southern Chester County League Championships with a 12.6 and finished fifth in the 100 meters at the Hurricane Classic hosted by Villa Julia. Thuy Nguyen (Reading, PA) is a long sprinter from Exeter Township High School. She owns school records in the 400 and 800 and the Berks County record in the 800. A team MVP, Nguyen also received all-county, all-division and all-state honors. Ann Regan (Springfield, PA) comes to Saint Joseph's as a decorated cross country and distance runner. She was a state medallist in cross country and holds the Springfield High record in cross country, while earning all-Delaware County honors in track and field. Regan also holds the school record in the indoor 1600 and as a member of the 4x800 and distance medley relay teams. Genevieve Story (Havertown, PA) earned all-Main Line and all-Delaware County honors at Haverford High School. A team MVP in both cross country and track, Story won the Delco 1600 and Central League 3200 during her sophomore and senior years.
