NEWPORT, R.I. - The Saint Joseph's golf team finished 15th after shooting 309 in the final round of the Adams Cup Tuesday at the at Newport National Golf Club (par 72 - 7,244 yards). As a team, the Hawks shot 314-310-309/933 in their second tournament of the season.
Individually for the Hawks, senior Josh Webb finished tied for 27th with a three-round score of 79-75-73/227. Junior Jimmy Bea carded a final-round score of 74 for a total of 78-78-74/230 to finish tied for 40th. Junior Andrew Jaskel tied for 58th at 76-79-81/236, with freshman Kyle Jeziorski tying for 77th at 81-78-84/243. Senior Jim Ridgway rounded out the five-man squad at 83-81-81/245 to finish tied for 82nd.
Central Florida won the team title by 18 strokes, finishing at 868. Central Florida's Greg Eason claimed medalist honors by two strokes after finishing at two-under-par 214.
The Hawks returns to action next Monday and Tuesday, September 27-28, at the Hartford Invitational.
