The Saint Joseph’s women’s rowing team announced the addition of five student-athletes – Aislinn O’Brien, Hannah Howard, Carly Bachinsky, Anna Rose Gambescia and Katie Esparza – who will join the program in the Fall of 2019.

O’Brien is from Phoenixville, Pa., and Archbishop Carroll High School. She plans on majoring in interdisciplinary health services and chose the Hawks because of the “team, academics, campus and school as a whole”.

Howard will come to Saint Joseph’s via Lewis S. Mills High School in Burlington, Conn. With a career goal to be a physician’s assistant, she feels that SJU is a great fit for her with the “beautiful campus, wonderful team dynamic and the rigorous classes”.

Bachinsky hails from Pipersville, Pa., and Gwynedd Mercy Academy, and plans to study biology on a pre-med track. She selected the Hawks because of the “campus, environment and the people” and envisions herself “succeeding in the future with all that SJU provides”.

Gambescia, from Newtown, Pa., attends Council Rock North High School and plans on majoring in early childhood education and special education. She chose Saint Joseph’s because of the “amazing opportunities offered to help me achieve my dream job and being an educator”.

Esparaza, from Somers Point, N.J., is currently the co-captain for the Mainland Regional High School crew team, and plans to pursue her degree in arts and sciences.
