Live streaming will be available for the introduction of new Saint Joseph's men's basketball coach Billy Lange to the University community on Thursday, April 4 at 10 a.m. in the Wynne Hall of Fame Room adjacent to Hagan Arena.
Lange becomes the 15th head coach in the program’s 110-year history, succeeding legendary Hawks’ coach Phil Martelli. He brings more than 23 years of sideline experience to the Hawks, most recently as assistant coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. Since joining the Sixers in 2013, the team has rebuilt its culture, emphasized player development and implemented a process that has led to their current success.
Lange was previously the associate head coach at Villanova University and, before that, was the head coach at the U.S. Naval Academy, leading the Midshipmen to their first winning season in seven years (2007-08). He has also served as an assistant coach at La Salle University and started his collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Philadelphia University under Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame coach Herb Magee.
