• Saint Joseph’s defeated Wagner, 59-57, in the final game of 2018. Although the Hawks scored their last basket of the game at 4:53, they held off Wagner in the final minutes. Charlie Brown, Jr., had a team-high 17 points and Lamarr Kimble scored 12
• Saint Joseph’s ranks second in the nation in turnovers per game, with an average of 8.6. Jared Bynum tops the conference and ranks 31st in the nation in assist/turnover ratio with 3.14•
• This is the third of four consecutive games in Philadelphia for the Hawks
• SJU is seeking its third straight win, which would tie the longest streak of the season
• Saint Joseph’s is 15-8 in A-10 openers under Phil Martelli and has won two of the last three

•  SJU had a season-high 13 turnovers against Loyola Chicago, and 11 vs. Wagner
• The Hawks have committed 10-plus turnovers only three times this year
• Freshman Jared Bynum leads the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio with 3.1 and is ranked 31st in the nation. He has 44 assists this year to just 14 turnovers

• The Hawks owned a 6-5 non-conference record heading into A-10 play last season They would go on to win four of their first seven A-10 games and ultimately end the season with a 10-8 league record and the fourth seed in the championship

• The Hawks fell victim to buzzer beaters by Ian Boyd and Otis Livingston II in each of the regular-season meetings against George Mason last season
• But the Hawks gained a bit of revenge in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals, as 4th-seeded SJU defeated 5th-seeded GMU, 68-49
• In the game at Hagan Arena on Feb. 21, the Hawks rallied from a 20-point deficit. Shavar Newkirk scored 14 points for SJU in the final three minutes and hit a pair of free throws with 5.6 seconds to play to tie the score, 76-76. But Boyd picked up the ball after a scramble past midcourt and made the 28-footer
• It was a similar finish to the first meeting of the teams on Jan. 10 in Fairfax when Livingston II connected on a three-pointer as time expired to give GMU an 81-79 win

• Saint Joseph’s will play a rare Sunday game against George Washington on Jan. 6 at Hagan Arena
• The Hawks will then go on the road for two straight, at St. Bonaventure on Jan. 9 and at Duquesne on Jan. 12
