Saint Joseph’s head men’s basketball coach Phil Martelli announced that Thomas Boyle has been named director of basketball operations and Stephanie McCaffrey has been named senior administrative assistant. In addition, Jake Callahan has been named the graduate assistant video coordinator.

Boyle was promoted to director of basketball operations after serving as the graduate assistant video coordinator for the past two years. A 2015 graduate of SJU, Boyle served as the interim director of basketball operations for part of the 2016-17 season.

A native of Havertown, Pa., he was a student manager with the Hawks for three years and also served an internship at the Atlantic 10 Conference during the 2015-16 season. Boyle received his master’s degree in business administration from Saint Joseph’s this past year.

McCaffrey was named administrative assistant, replacing Clare Ariano, who retired after 34 years on staff. A former Saint Joseph’s women’s basketball standout, McCaffrey served as an assistant coach with the Hawks for 10 seasons and helped develop many SJU post players. Prior to that, she was SJU's director of basketball operations for two seasons.

McCaffrey was one of the top defensive players in SJU history, finishing as the Hawks’ career leader in blocked shots. Named to the 2003-04 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team and the A-10 All-Defensive Team, the Drexel Hill, Pa., native helped SJU post an 80-43 record and make three straight appearances in the Postseason WNIT.

Callahan, from Drexel Hill, Pa., graduated from SJU in May with a degree in communications. He was a four-year team manager for the Hawks, and served as one of the head managers for the past two seasons.
