NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Saint Joseph's softball team was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 this season according to the conference's preseason poll that was released on Wednesday. The Hawks, who advanced to the A-10 semifinals last season, garnered 67 votes from the league's 10 head coaches.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Erin Brooks, Saint Joseph's return eight starters and 13 letterwinners overall from last year's club that went finished third in the A-10.

Fordham was picked to finish first overall, receiving nine first place votes. Massachusetts was picked second, followed by Dayton (third), the Hawks (fourth), George Washington (fifth) and George Mason (sixth). Saint Louis was slotted seventh, followed by Rhode Island (eighth), La Salle (ninth), and St. Bonaventure (10th) rounding out the poll.
