TOWSON, Md. - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team capped play at the Towson Tiger Classic on Sunday as the Hawks split their 10 combined matches versus Mount St. Mary's and Towson.
Gill-Reid picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Emma Blake, while Devlin posted a 6-1, 6-1 decision against Megan Gamble. Newcomer Laura Gomez picked up the third win of the match as she downed Sruthi Kamprath, 6-0, 6-2.
Capping play versus the host Tigers, Gomez and Maureen Devlin each added another singles win to their totals. Gomez earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Lucy Gloninger, while Devlin posted a 7-5, 6-7 (5), 10-5 victory versus Lucy Williams.
"A very successful weekend of play with all healthy squad members getting some competition," said SJU head coach Ian Crookenden. "We have a lot of knowledge gained and I look for improved play in two weeks at the SJU Invitational."
The Hawks are back in action September 29 when they host the SJU Invitational.
