This offseason, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse program will individually introduce its 13 newest Hawks. With the departure of nine letterwinners, including a trio of starters, from last year’s team, this incoming group comprised of six attackers, four midfielders, two defenders, and a goalkeeper will add to a Hawks squad that is coming off of a program-record, 11-win season, which was capped by a run at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament, and will play under the direction of fourth-year head coach Alex Kahoe.

#22 Taylor Newman-Farr • M 5-10 • Reston, Va. South Lakes • Chemical Biology
A three-time All-Conference selection, which included First Team honors as a senior, Newmann-Farr earned four varsity letters and was twice named the squad’s Most Valuable Performer at South Lakes High School. The incoming midfielder ranked 15th in the region in goals scored during her junior season and went on to earn the South Lakes 2017 Donna De Verona Women In Sports Award as a senior. A native of Reston, Virginia, Newmann-Farr also lettered in basketball, where she was an All-Conference Honorable Mention, and was extremely involved in the JROTC, where she went from Corporal as a freshman, to Staff Sergeant as a sophomore, to Sergeant First Class, Head of the tutoring Program as a junior, to Captain, Company Commander as a senior.

Explain who or what most influenced you to attend SJU:
“The area and the people. Everyone was so genuine, respectful, and kind. I love being in a new environment other than Virginia or Maryland and being in such a caring community.”
