CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Members of the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team are headed to the University of Virginia this week to compete in the ITA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships.  Play is set to begin on Thursday.

Nathan Perrone is seeded 20th in the singles draw and received a bye into the Third Round.  His first match will be on Friday against an entrant from either George Washington, James Madison, or Virginia.

Elsewhere in the bottom half of the draw, Beekman Schaeffer will meet up with Christian Pumpelly of Navy, Francesco Mowrey will take on Georgetown's Rohan Kander, and Johnnie Massart will face off with Luis Molina of Delaware.  All three First Round matches are set for Thursday morning.

In the top half, four Hawks will be in action on Thursday.  Nickolas Frisk will meet Navy's Conners O'Brien, Sam Sauter will be matched up against Rosen Naydenov of Longwood, and Luis Janko will meet Will Karpinski of James Madison; all three matches are set for the First Round on Thursday morning.  Eshan Kanetkar received a bye into Thursday's Second Round, where he awaits the winner of the First Round match between Georgetown's Ryan Navarro and Andres Varga of Radford.

The Hawks will also compete in the doubles portion of the competition; Perrone and Frisk will team up, as will Mowrey and Massart.  Doubles play begins on Friday.

The ITA Mid-Atlantic Regionals will be contested at three venues: Virginia's Snyder Tennis Center and Dell Tennis Courts, and the Boar's Head Sports Club.  Play runs through the weekend, with the championship matches slated for Monday, October 21.
