Jana Ebert has joined the Saint Joseph's field hockey support staff for the 2019 season as the director of operations.
A native of Leipzig, Germany, Ebert comes to Hawk Hill with a deep and diverse playing and coaching background. As a player, she spent one season at the University of Richmond before moving on to play at the highest levels in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. She then went on to receive her professional coaching degree from the Swiss Olympic Association and her A-Level coaching license from the German Hockey Federation.
Ebert has spent time at both Bremer Hockey Club and SC Frankfurt 1880 in her native Germany, helping guide Bremer to a pair of German outdoor championships (U14, 2014; U15, 2016) and an indoor title (U14, 2015). At SC Frankfurt, she worked with young children in the Heidelberger Ballschool program, which is aimed at three- to six-year-year olds and exposes them to various different ball sports.
Stateside, Ebert spent three seasons at Syracuse, where she worked alongside Hawk head coach Lynn Farquhar.
At the international level, Ebert served three years as the managing director of the Swiss Hockey Federation, and has spent the last six years working with the German U16 girls' national team, helping guide the team to three consecutive titles at the Six Nations Tournament.
