Thomas Boyle has been named Saint Joseph’s director of scouting and analytics for men’s basketball, head coach Billy Lange announced today.

Boyle takes on the role of director of scouting and analytics after spending the previous season as director of basketball operations. Prior to that, he served as graduate assistant video coordinator for two years and worked as the interim director of basketball operations for part of the 2016-17 season. A 2015 graduate of Saint Joseph's, Boyle served an internship at the Atlantic 10 Conference during the 2015-16 season before returning to Hawk Hill.

"Toe understands the Saint Joseph’s basketball story and Hawk Hill as well as anyone. He takes to all tasks with passion and pride," said Lange. "His new position provides him a path aligned with his drive to be a coach. He will take on many basketball-related studies and projects that will develop our coaching staff and players. In addition, Toe will lead our operations managers and partner with Dr. [Steve] Porth and Dr. [Katie] Garwood to create connections with our highly impressive analytics and data students. We will rely heavily on Toe, and I am excited about his growth and upside."

While an undergrad at Saint Joseph’s, Boyle worked as a student manager for three years, being designated as a head manager in 2014. He received his bachelor's degree in sports marketing in 2015 and followed that with a master's degree in business administration from SJU in 2018.

A native of Havertown, Pennsylvania, Boyle is the grandson of two former SJU head coaches: Jim Lynam and the late Jim Boyle.
