DENVER – Saint Joseph’s field hockey assistant coach Liz Sack has been selected to take part in the 2019 NCAA Women Coaches Academy, to be held in Denver from June 19 to June 22.

The NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) is a partnership between the WeCoach organization and the NCAA that consists of four days of educational training available to NCAA coaches of all experience levels.  The WCA is geared toward women coaches who seek to increase their individual effectiveness by learning advanced skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success.  WCA participants focus on non-sport specific concepts in an environment that fosters inclusion across the sports community.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to advance my coaching career through the WeCoach Organization,” Sack said.  “The Women Coaches Academy has a reputation of excellence and I look forward to absorbing all of the experiences possible during my time in Denver.  I hope to bring back the knowledge I gain to share with the Hawks for the upcoming 2019 season!”

“WeCoach has a simple campaign phrase: ‘If I can see her, I can be her!’” SJU head coach Lynn Farquhar said.  “Visible women in leadership positions is essential for our student-athlete development, so we're thrilled that Liz is continuing to evolve as a role model on staff.”

Since its inception in 2003, the WCA has hosted nearly 50 sessions attended by more than 1,700 coaches across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III.
