Saint Joseph's rising senior golfer Michael O'Brien has been named to the Division I Ping All-Northeast Region Team, organization officials have announced.

Averaging 72.7 strokes-per-round over 30 rounds this season, O'Brien posted the lowest average by a Hawk in more than a decade as he helped the team to six top-five finishes, highlighted by the team title at the Columbia Invitational. Capturing Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades after finishing tied for fifth at the conference championship, he helped Saint Joseph's to its best A-10 finish since 2003 as the Hawks placed fourth in the 11-team field.

O'Brien was stellar from the start of the season until the close as he posted 10 top-20 finishes, including the top-five finish at the A-10 Championship and a share of medalist honors at the City 6 Championship. A three-year letterwinner, he is just the third Hawk in program history to earn All-Region honors, joining Jimmy Bea (2009) and Billy Stewart (2004).

O'Brien, along with teammates J.T. Spina, Wills Montgomery and Ross Pilliod, will compete locally for the 2019 BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship June 11-13 at the Stonewall Links.
