BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team capped its regular season on Thursday as the Hawks fell at Lehigh, 7-0.

Opening with doubles play, Katherine Devlin and Laura Gomez battled at the third flight versus Grace Lin and Leigh Friedman, but the Lehigh duo would prevail, 7-6 (4). The Mountain Hawks captured victories at the other two flights to capture the match's first point.

At the top singles flight, Amanda Nava dropped a close match to Sibel Can, 5-7, 6-3, 10-6, with Lehigh picking up wins in the other singles matches despite strong play from the Hawks.

"It’s strange to say we had a good match when we lost 0-7, but I am very pleased that the bottom half of our lineup is being as competitive as the upper half. That was not how it was in the first part of our season," said SJU head coach Ian Crookenden. "Whomever we play on Wednesday at the A-10 Championships will be no tougher than opponents we have already faced, so we can play with no fear and tons of Hawk fight."

The 2019 Atlantic 10 Championships begin Wednesday, April 24 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
