PRINCETON, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's golf team is tied for 12th place and junior Michael O'Brien is tied for 27th individually after the opening two rounds of the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.

Playing at the par-71 Springdale Golf Club (6,415 yards), the Hawks opened the day with a round of 298, but posted a 284 in the second round for a score of 298-294/582.

Carding a two-round score of 73-70/143 (+1), O'Brien is tied for 27th, while Richard Riva is tied for 33rd at 73-71/144 (+2). Wills Montgomery shot 75-72/147 (+5) and is tied for 52nd with Ross Pilliod tied for 56th at 77-71/148 (+6). Reed Winkler rounded out the five-man squad with a score of 79-78/157 (+15) and is in 74th place. 

Yale holds the team lead by seven strokes at 549, while Yale's Teddy Zinser and Paul Stankey are tied atop the individual leaderboard at 134.

The final round begins Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
