THE HAWKS
• Saint Joseph’s ended the regular season with losses to Rhode Island (86-85 in OT) and VCU (75-63). The Hawks had four players score double figures at VCU, led by Charlie Brown, Jr. and Lamarr Kimble with 15 points apiece
Charlie Brown, Jr., ended the regular season as the leading scorer in the A-10 with 18.8 points per game. He was second in conference games with 17.3 points per game
• Freshman Jared Bynum is the league’s leader in assist/turnover ratio (2.4) while the Hawks rank third in the nation in fewest turnovers per game (9.3). Bynum also ranks second in the A-10 in minutes played in conference contests, averaging 37.8 per game
• The Hawks lead the A-10 in free throw percentage in conference games at 76.5 percent
Charlie Brown, Jr., was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team. His selection gives the Hawks at least one honoree in seven consecutive years.
• SJU captured the last Atlantic 10 Championship held at the Barclays Center in 2016, marking the school’s fourth all-time A-10 title
• Since 2005, Saint Joseph’s owns an 11-3 record in its first game of the Atlantic 10 Tournament
• If the Hawks win, they will advance to Friday’s quarterfinals against Davidson (6 p.m.)

TOP OF HIS GAME
Charlie Brown, Jr., finished the regular season as the A-10’s scoring leader with his 18.8 average
• He’s aiming to become only the second Hawk to win the A-10 scoring crown as DeAndre’ Bembry (17.7 ppg) achieved it in 2014-15
• Brown’s season average (18.83) is the 16th best in school history, behind Delonte West’s 18.87 average in 2003-04

BACK TO BROOKLYN
• The Hawks are happy about the return to the Barclays Center as the arena has been good to them in the past. Saint Joseph’s last two Atlantic 10 titles have been won on this court, in 2014 and 2016
• The Hawks own a 7-2 record in A-10 Championship games played in the arena, and an 8-3 all-time record counting two games from the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. The Hawks defeated #20 Notre Dame and then lost to Florida State in that tourney

SJU AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP
• This is the Hawks’ lowest seed since 2017, when they were 13th and lost to UMass in the First Round in Pittsburgh
• The last time that SJU owned the 10th seed was in the 2015 tournament. The Hawks lost to seventh-seeded St. Bonaventure in the quarterfinals in the Barclays Center
• Saint Joseph’s is 41-32 all-time in the A-10 Championship, with tournament titles in 1986, 1997, 2014 and 2016
• The Hawks are 13-5 all-time in this round, which until 2015 was referred to as the First Round

TOURNEY TALES
• There are four players remaining from the 2016 A-10 champion team - Lamarr Kimble, Chris Clover, Markell Lodge and Pierfrancesco Oliva
• Kimble and Clover, however, are the only two out of that group who will be playing this week. They also have the most A-10 Championship experience, with Kimble averaging 20 minutes per game as a freshman for the 2016 team and Clover averaging 20 minutes in four career tourney games
Charlie Brown has only played in one A-10 Tournament game thus far, in 2017, as he missed last season with a wrist injury
Taylor Funk averaged 11.5 points in two games last season as the Hawks reached the A-10 semifinals
(Tournament career stats on pg. 10)

THIS TIME LAST YEAR
• SJU closed out the regular season winning three straight and six of its last seven to earn the A-10’s fourth seed with a 10-8 record
• The Hawks defeated George Mason in the Quarterfinals but were edged by top-seeded Rhode Island, 90-87, in the semifinals

ADDING THEM UP
Charlie Brown has surpassed the 500-point mark for the season (565) and now has 962 points in 51 career games
• His season point total ranks 18th on SJU’s all-time list

DROPPING DIMES
Jared Bynum’s 142 assists this year are tied for 22nd on the Hawks’ single-season list with Jameer Nelson, who had 142 in 2002-03

AT THE LINE
• Saint Joseph’s is converting 80.1 percent (89-for-110) from the foul line in the last five games
Lamarr Kimble has led SJU by converting 29-for-33 free throws in those games

LOOKING AHEAD
• A win by the Hawks would advance them to the quarterfinals against second-seeded Davidson on Friday at 6 p.m.
• SJU split the season series with Davidson this year, with each team winning on its home court
