BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Saint Joseph’s redshirt sophomore Charlie Brown, Jr., has been named to the 2019 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, as announced by the league in advance of the 2019 Men’s Basketball Championship, which begins Wednesday at the Barclays Center.
Brown led the Atlantic 10 in scoring through the regular season with 18.8 points per game as he posted double figures in all but two contests and scored over 20 points 13 times. He ranks ninth in the conference in free throw percentage (83.6), three-point percentage (36.1) and three-point field goals made (2.2), while ranking 10th in minutes per game (35.3).
The 6-6 forward from Philadelphia also leads the Hawks in rebounding (5.9) and ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring in conference games only with his 17.5 average.
Brown, who missed the entire 2017-18 season with a wrist injury, previously earned Atlantic 10 honors in 2016-17 with selection to the All-Rookie team. His selection to the All-Conference team gives the Hawks at least one honoree in seven consecutive years.
Saint Joseph’s (13-18; 6-12) has earned the 10th seed in the championship and will open play on Thursday against seventh-seeded Duquesne (19-12; 10-8) at 6 p.m., with the national broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.
