RICHMOND, Va. - Saint Joseph's sophomore Amanda Nava extended her singles unbeaten streak to six matches on Friday with a win at No. 1 singles versus Richmond, but the Spiders pulled away from the Hawks' women's tennis squad for the team victory, 6-1.

Playing one of the top players in the conference in Richmond's Emily Dunbar, Nava bounced back after dropping the first set, 3-6, to earn a 6-3 victory in the second and claim the match in the super breaker, 10-3.

Richmond, which captured the first point of the night with wins at the first and second doubles flight, would earn victories at the other five singles flights to pick up the team win.

"Richmond was too strong for a depleted Hawk squad, but Amanda gained a very good revenge win over No. 1 Dunbar who was A-10 Rookie and Player of the Year. Convincing second set and tie break to preserve her streak of singles wins," said SJU head coach Ian Crookenden.

The Hawks (0-6) return to action versus Western Carolina in Orlando, Florida on Thursday.
