Saint Joseph’s point guard Jared Bynum has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week, sharing the honor with Sincere Carry of Duquesne. It marks his second weekly honor of the season.

Bynum averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game in the Hawks’ 1-1 week. He also grabbed four steals in the two games.

The 5-10 freshman started out the week by scoring 12 points, grabbing seven rebounds and handing out a career-high nine assists in the Hawks’ 61-60 win over Davidson, which ended a four-game losing streak.

Bynum followed that with a team-high 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists in SJU’s loss at league-leading Saint Louis.

He tops the Hawks in assists per 4.3 per game, with a scoring average of 12.1. Bynum also leads the Atlantic 10 with an assist/turnover ratio of 2.5.

Saint Joseph’s (8-10; 1-5 A-10) returns to action on Wednesday to face Richmond in Hagan Arena.
