GILBERT, Ariz. – Fresh off its second consecutive Atlantic 10 championship, the Saint Joseph’s field hockey team held steady at number 10 in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll of the 2018 season, released on Tuesday morning.

Ranked in every poll this season, the Hawks remained in the top 10 after beating Richmond and VCU en route to the program’s third Atlantic 10 title and second in as many years.

Four of the Hawks’ opponents this season ended up in the poll.  Duke held on to the number three spot while Rutgers remained at 11th.  Delaware, meanwhile, fell four spots to 18th while Syracuse moved down three to 20th.

The Hawks are set to meet #8 Michigan, which slipped one spot in this week’s poll, in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Field Hockey Championship in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on Friday afternoon.  North Carolina, the host of the Hawks’ tournament pod, remained a unanimous number one in the season’s final poll.
