Leading the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team to a pair of wins, while posting a 0.50 goals-against-average on the week, senior goalkeeper Grace Bendon has been named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts, conference officials announced on Monday.

At George Mason on Thursday, Bendon posted a game-high seven saves in helping the Hawks to a 4-1 victory over the Patriots. She followed with a clean sheet against VCU on Sunday, making three saves for her fourth shutout of the season.

Playing every minute in goal for SJU this year, Bendon has gone 9-4-2 with a career-best 0.91 goals-against average and a .778 save percentage. A four-year starter, Bendon holds the Hawks'  record for career wins (28), and ranks third all-time in goals-against average (1.30) and fourth in career shutouts (12).

Bendon and the Hawks (9-4-2, 4-2-0 A-10) return to action this Thursday when they host George Washington at 7 p.m.
