GILBERT, Ariz. – The Saint Joseph’s field hockey team remained at number 14 in the newest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday morning.

The Hawks, 8-2 on the season and 3-0 in Atlantic 10 play, held steady after a 2-0 weekend extended their winning streak to four in a row.  SJU won a pair of road games after topping Lock Haven, 4-1, on Friday and routing Saint Francis (Pa.), 5-0, on Sunday.  Freshman Tonya Botherway totaled four goals and an assist on the weekend, earning both Player and Rookie of the Week honors from the Atlantic 10.

Three previous Hawk opponents are ranked once again as Duke remained fourth in the poll, Rutgers moved up to 17th, and Delaware slipped one spot to 20th.  Syracuse, set to visit Hawk Hill on October 27, dropped two spots to #13.

The Hawks will play a pair of local rivals this weekend, visiting Drexel on Friday night before hosting Temple on Sunday.  Sunday’s game, set for noon, is also Alumnae Day at Ellen Ryan Field.  To RSVP for the Alumnae tailgate, visit
