For the fourth straight week, the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team has earned regional recognition as the Hawks are ranked ninth place in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll, organization officials announced on Tuesday.
Going 1-0-1 last week, the Hawks improved to 4-1-2 on the year. On Thursday, SJU earned a 1-1 double-overtime draw with Drexel and followed with an offensive outburst against Bucknell. Backed by two goals and an assist from senior Hannah Racis, Saint Joseph's topped Bucknell, 5-1, to remain unbeaten at home.
The Hawks are one of four Atlantic 10 teams to earn regional recognition this week as they join La Salle (fourth), George Washington (eighth) and Dayton (ninth).
Saint Joseph's continues its five-game homestand this Thursday when the Hawks host Villanova at 7 p.m.
