ORLANDO, Fla. - The Saint Joseph's golf team caps its 2017-18 season this weekend as the Hawks head to the Atlantic 10 Golf Championship at the Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort.

The SJU team of juniors Chuck Briggs and Ross Pilliod, sophomore Michael O'Brien and Reed Winkler and freshman Wills Montgomery open play at the 54-hole A-10 Golf Championship this Friday at 9:45 a.m. The tournament, which begins with a practice round on Thursday, is set for a full 18-hole round each day through Sunday.

This year's A-10 Championship features 11 teams and will be contested on the New Course at Grand Cypress. The New Course is Jack Nicklaus' tribute and homage to the famed Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. This Scottish-links masterpiece is complete with double greens, stone bridges and walls, gorse mounds, burns and pot bunkers as deep as 12 feet.

Admission to the championship is free and the winner of the event earns the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
