PHILADELPHIA – After winning a pair of events at the William and Mary Colonial Relays last Friday, Saint Joseph's senior standout Claudine Andre has been selected the Atlantic 10 Women's Field Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. The honor marks her second of the year and first of the outdoor season.
Andre won both the high jump and long jump on Friday at William and Mary's Zable Stadium to earn 20 of SJU's 39 total points on the weekend.
The senior won the high jump with a mark of 5' 7" (1.70m), edging out UMass-Lowell's Danielle Poublon (1.65m) and Kerstin Darsney (1.65m) to claim the title in a field of 13. She also won the long jump with a collegiate-best mark of 19' 4 3/4" (5.91m), edging out Shippensburg's Dani Sciremammano (5.63m) to claim the title in a field of 10.
Both performances met ECAC qualification. Her high jump mark leads the A-10 while her long jump mark sits second.
