SOMERSET, N.J. – After leading the Hawks to a 1-1 week from the X last week, which included their first win of the season, freshman face-off specialist Billy Jardeleza has been tabbed the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. The honor marks the first of Jardeleza's collegiate career.

Jardeleza went 28-of-42 from the X last week, which included a 15-of-23 (65.2%) showing with seven ground balls vs. St. John's and a 13-of-19 (68.4%) showing with five ground balls at Monmouth. In those two games combined, Jardeleza went 67% from the X with 12 ground balls.

His 15 face-off wins vs. St. John's are a season-high as is his 68.4% winning percentage at Monmouth.

Jardeleza and the Hawks (1-3) return to action tomorrow, March 13, vs. Drexel (2-3) at 4:00 p.m. on Sweeney Field.
