PHILADELPHIA – Former Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse standout Rob Herzog ’00 was named the recipient of the program’s inaugural Pat Cullinan Memorial Award at the team's 2018 Face-Off Dinner on January 20. The honor is bestowed upon a distinguished member of the Saint Joseph's lacrosse community who has made outstanding contributions to the continued growth and success of the program.

Characterized by his passion for the sport of lacrosse and unwavering principles, Pat Cullinan served as head coach of the program from 2004-11. He passed away on October 15, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.

As a player, Herzog was a four-year starter, two-year captain, and two-time team MVP who helped lead SJU to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship in 2000. After graduating, he served as an assistant coach and has been the driving force behind the team’s alumni outreach program. A regular presence at games, organizing alumni tailgates, he and his wife, Cara, a former women’s lacrosse player, have been loyal and dedicated donors to the program.
