RICHMOND, Va. - Seventh seed Saint Joseph's faces sixth seed and host VCU this Friday in a semifinal match of the 2017 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship at 4:30 p.m. at Sports Backers Stadium.
The winner of Friday's contest will take on either top seed La Salle or fourth seed Duquesne in the championship game on Sunday at noon.
HAWKS TOPS SECOND SEED SAINT LOUIS IN QUARTERFINALS, 1-0
Saint Joseph's junior Michaela Finneyfrock scored in the 30th minute and classmate Grace Bendon made a game-high eight saves to lead the seventh seeded Hawks to a 1-0 victory at second seed Saint Louis in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship.

The Hawks are making their fourth straight, and eighth overall, Atlantic 10 Championship appearance, all coming under the guidance of head coach Jess Mannella. In its previous appearances, Saint Joseph's has posted a 4-7 record, advancing to its second straight A-10 Championship semifinals with a win over Saint Louis last Saturday.
Dakota Mills, the 2016 A-10 Offensive Player of the Year, is out with a knee injury she suffered versus Temple (8/25)...The Hawks are 10-1-2 when scoring first, 1-4-0 when the opponent scores first, and 0-0-1 when neither team scores...Grace Bendon ranks fifth in career wins (19), with her 11 wins this year tied for second in a season...Paige Bergman is tied for second all-time in assists (17), one shy of the all-time mark held by Ellen Stenrud...A-10 All-Conference Second Team selections Gabrielle Vagnozzi is tied for fourth all-time in assists (14) and 11th in points (34)...Morgan Bower was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.
