BLACKSBURG, Va. - Saint Joseph's freshman Amanda Nava earned a 5-7, 6-4, 10-3 singles victory at the ITA Atlantic Regional on Sunday at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

Playing in the singles back draw, Nava faced Duquesne's top singles player, and a 2017 Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection, Kylie Isaaks. Facing the rival upperclassman, Nava battled back after dropping the first set to earn a 5-7, 6-4, 10-3 win.

"I was especially pleased with the way Amanda regrouped after losing the first set despite having a 5-2 lead," said SJU Head Coach Ian Crookenden. "Her composure and competitive fight in winning the second set and the super breaker was a great leap forward in her maturing as an adult competitor."

The regional tournament runs through Tuesday.
