QUAKERTOWN, PA. - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team kicked off the Fall season at the Lehigh Invitational on Lake Nockamixon.
With a different format used for Fall racing, all 10 boats lined up at the starting line and raced the 3500 meters. Despite it being a blustery day, the competitors faced good racing conditions.
The Hawks boated their crews by class, and despite all four being very close together in practice, the seniors earned a first-place finish, clocking a 12:21.20 to defeat Villanova's "A" boat (12:27.27). SJU's juniors took sixth while the sophomores finished ninth.
