PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team has been ranked 14th in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll, organization officials announced on Tuesday.

Facing a previously undefeated Ohio State (5-1-1) squad on Sunday that was receiving votes in both collegiate soccer polls and topped No. 20 Notre Dame on Friday, the Hawks tallied a first half goal courtesy of Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week Paige Bergman to take a 1-0 lead.

Saint Joseph's defense and A-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week goalkeeper Grace Bendon made the lead stand as she made a game-high nine saves to help the Hawks improve to 4-1-1 on the year.

This week marks first appearance in the East Region poll for the Hawks this year. Saint Joseph's appeared in the predecessor to the United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Mid-Atlantic Poll, 11 times last season.

Saint Joseph's caps its four-game road swing this Thursday at Providence at 7 p.m.
