PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior Drew Taylor has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Golf Team, organization officials announced on Monday. The team is chosen by Philadelphia metropolitan area's 28 sports information directors.

Playing in all 12 events, Taylor averaged a career-best 76.5 strokes per round in 2016-17. Helping the Hawks to a season-opening title at the Bucknell Invitational, he had a season-best 20th-place finish at the City 6 Championship and capped his collegiate career at the Atlantic 10 Championship tying for 40th place. A two-year letterwinner with a 3.81 grade-point-average, Taylor graduated this past May with degrees in finance, and risk management and insurance.

Joining Taylor on the Academic All-Area Team are Andy butler of Villanova, Vanmsi Damerla of Swathmore, Nick DiMaio of Swarthmore, Amay Poria of Penn and All-Arean Perfomer of the Year Yoseph Dance of Drexel.
