The Hawks earned an at-large bid to cap off one of their most successful seasons in school history. All three of those boats medaled at the Dad Vail Regatta with SJU placing third in the men's team standings. SJU is participating in the IRAs for the first time since the current format of varsity-only crews and qualification standards were instituted in 2009.
“The three weeks leading into the IRA have been a whole new season for us. We went back to fundamentals in the first week, worked on base speed the second week, and started polishing up our race plans this week,” said coach Mike Irwin. “We are eager to get to the starting line and continue to move Team #63 forward. We are honored to have been selected as part of this year's IRAs. We want to bring honor to the program with our performances on the water.”
