SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomore Elaine Estes went sub-19:00 for the first time in her collegiate career as an unattached runner at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier, held at Swarthmore College's Walter T. Skallerup, Jr. Track at Clothier Field on Monday evening.
Estes improved upon her PR in the event by over 20 seconds.
The preliminary rounds of the 2017 NCAA East Regional Outdoor Championships will run from Thursday, May 25 through Saturday, May 27 at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The three days of competition will feature the top collegiate athletes east of the Mississippi River. For each individual event contested at each of the preliminary championships competition sites, the top 48 declared student-athletes are accepted into competition.
Fifth-year senior Dannah Hayward currently ranks 61st in the 400m hurdles (59.89) while junior Claudine Andre ties with 14 other high jumpers for 70th (1.70m). The duo qualified last year. The official declaration list will be released by the NCAA this week.
