The Saint Joseph's women's team opened the season, and closed out Spring Break, by hosting Penn and Delaware in a tri-meet on March 18.
The Hawks' Freshman 8 led the way, scoring an impressive win over both Penn and Delaware in a time of 7:14.1. The lineup was: c- Shannon Mulgrew, 8- Gabby Gorman, 7- Demi Simms, 6- Emma Schuettler, 5- Christine Porcaro, 4- Samantha O'Connell, 3- Kelsey Bellomia, 2 Fiona McKee, 1-Kate LaCasse.
Both the Second Varsity 8 and the Varsity 4 scored wins over Delaware and lost to Penn. The Second Varsity 8 was: c- Jess Crosby, 8- Kerri Roman, 7- Brianna Stone, 6- Reece Long, 5- Alyssa Vanni, 4- Caroline Strauss, 3- Cassie Francis, 2- Dominique Milillo, 1-Samantha Haines whiel the Varsity 4 was comprised of: c- Caitlin Kennedy, 4- Olivia Sullivan, 3- Rose Tavianini, 2- Bridget Welsh, 1- Fiona Devine.
The Varsity 8 was third, falling to both the Quakers and the Blue Hens, with a lineup of: c- Gabrielle Argo, 8- Kiernan Loue, 7- Jen Raphelson, 6- Maria Biancaniello, 5- Allie Howell, 4 -Cailin McCully, 3- Isabella Haleski, 2- Katherine Robb, 1- Natalie Simms
