Release:  03/16/2017

The Saint Joseph's field hockey program will welcome a strong class of new student-athletes for the 2017 season.  Over the coming weeks, we'll introduce Hawk fans to the new additions, one by one. This week: Jordan Olenginski.

The Saint Joseph’s field hockey program will welcome Jordan Olenginski, a forward from Crestwood High School, to Hawk Hill for 2017.  A native of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, she is a product of both the Electric Surge and PA Elite club programs.

Olenginski was named to the All-State First Team as a senior and the Second Team as a junior while helping lead Crestwood to three district titles and a runner-up finish in her high school career.  She was a member of the Comets squads that reached the state title game in 2013 and 2014 and the state semifinals in 2015 as well.

“I am more than excited to be a contributing factor toward the continued success of SJU field hockey,” Olenginski said.  “I can’t wait to be a part of the Hawk family!”

Olenginski has played for the Electric Surge and PA Elite field hockey clubs, and also spent time with the USA Field Hockey Futures Program.  She is a two-time participant in the AAU Junior Olympic program and has competed in the National Futures Championship since.  Last year, she was selected to the U-19 Stars and Stripes Elite Game as well.

Olenginski is also a three-time all-star on the softball field as well for Crestwood.

"I chose Saint Joseph’s for its academic excellence, Jesuit philosophy, and athletic challenge,” she said.

“There is no hiding Jordan’s passion for competing and igniting an attack,” head coach Lynn Farquhar said.  “An impact player for perennial powerhouse Crestwood, Jordan is accustomed to fast-paced play and putting in ‘extra’ work.  Academically sound, Jordan also joins the Hawks with college credits.”

Olenginski and the rest of the new Hawks will join the program in time for the 2017 season.
