NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph's freshman miler Emily Bracken has been named to the inaugural Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field All-Rookie Team, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon. The team is comprised of the top rookie performer in each event from meets conducted from the start of the regular season through the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Bracken raced the mile five times this season, and improved upon her time every race en route to an eventual season-best time of 5:01.21 at the A-10 Indoor Track and Field Championships two weekends ago; the converted time of 4:58.26 ranks 10th in the entire conference. Bracken also clocked in at 5:02.50 at the Fastrack National Invitational (Feb. 10) and 5:05.21 at the Penn State National Invitational (Jan. 27).

Of note, Bracken's season-best time of 5:01.21 is the fastest mile recorded by a Saint Joseph's women's track and field rookie since Christine Kane went sub-5:00 during the 1997-98 season.

A native of West Chester, Pa., Bracken will race the mile at the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships this Saturday, March 4 at 3:35 p.m. up in Boston, Mass.
