PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior Emily Gingrich has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Soccer Team, organization officials announced on Tuesday.

Arguably the top player in Saint Joseph's history, Gingrich capped her career with an exceptional senior campaign. Earning Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year accolades, the four-time All-A-10 honoree finished second on the team in goals (11) and points (25) and added three assists. A three-time NSCAA All-Region selection and two-time ECAC All-Star, Gingrich finished her SJU career as the program's all-time leader in goals (43), points (103), shots (307) and ranked second in assists (17).

Gingrich, who is the first Hawk to eanr Academic All-Area honors since Alisha Paine in 2005, will graduate with a degree in criminal justice in May. She is joined on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team by Eastern's Emily Cole, Chestnut Hill’s Annalyse Culp, Arcadia’s Jackie Glanfield, Rowan teammates Ali Hicks and Shelby Money, Swarthmore teammates Caroline Khanna and Hannah Lichtenstein, Cabrini’s Gabby LeGendre, Haverford’s Abby Letts, Penn’s Paige Lombard, and Lincoln’s Cleo Spear.

The Academic All-Area Team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
