Saint Joseph’s men’s and women’s rowing teams will host the 30th Annual Navy Day Regatta on Saturday, October 15, on the Schuylkill River.

Over 3,300 competitors from 106 teams will participate in what has become a primary “kickoff” regatta for the Mid-Atlantic Region. It will be a 2.5-mile head race with the current.

The regatta was instituted in 1986 to commemorate the founding of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

The Hawks’ men’s crew will race three boats in the regatta, while the women will have four entries. SJU’s schedule is as follows:

9:46 am: Men's 4+
10:06 am: Women's 4+
10:22 am: Men's Freshman 8+
10:32 am: Women's Freshman 8+
11:04 am: Women's 2nd Varsity 8
12:40 pm: Men's Varsity 8+
1:08 pm: Women's Varsity 8+
1:38 pm: Women's Freshman 4+

Following the regatta at 2 p.m., SJU alums, parents and friends are invited to a barbecue at the Gillin Boathouse (2200 Kelly Drive), followed by a boat christening at 3 p.m. RSVP

The Boathouse will serve as the Hawks’ headquarters for the day, and all are asked to enter through the side gate.
