Ben Steenrod is in his 10th year at Saint Joseph's in 2019-20, having been promoted to head strength and conditioning coach in 2014.

Steenrod first came to Hawk Hill as an assistant strength and conditioning coach before his promotion in 2014.  At Saint Joseph's, he works with the Hawks' women's basketball, field hockey, men's soccer, baseball, and women's lacrosse programs.

He began his coaching career as an intern at Virginia Tech before serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Villanova from 2008 to 2010.  Steenrod worked with the Wildcats' football team that won the 2009 NCAA Division I FCS national championship and the men's basketball squad that reached the 2009 Final Four, as well as the Villanova track, men's lacrosse, and volleyball programs.

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Steenrod earned his undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech in 2008, as well as his MBA from Saint Joseph's in 2015.  Steenrod is certified through both the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and USA Weightlifting.  He has also appeared as a commentator on Saint Joseph's women's basketball and baseball broadcasts during his time on Hawk Hill.
