Dr. Lori Sweeney is the director of sports medicine at Saint Joseph's having worked at SJU for 22 years. Prior to being named director of sports medicine, she served as the head athletic trainer for 13 years after two years as an assistant.
Sweeney coordinates the medical services for all student-athletes. Prior to coming to SJU, she was an administrative assistant and instructor at Temple, worked at Pennsbury (Pa.) and Montgomery (N.J.) high schools and did a two-year stint at Rutgers.
The Bridgewater, N.J., native completed her Ph.D. in kinesiology with a concentration in sports medicine from Temple in 2000 with a concentration in sports medicine. She received a bachelor's of science degree from East Stroudsburg (1986) and a master's degree from Trenton State College (1988). She lives in Havertown, Pa. and has two children, Grace and K.T.
