PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's junior Aurora Davis has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic Women's Tennis All-Area Team, organization officials announced on Monday.

Leading the way for a Saint Joseph's team that set a single-season record for wins (16) this year, Davis posted a 24-7 overall record in singles matches, including a 15-5 mark at No. 1 singles. Her 15 wins at the top flight this season tied for third most in a single year, while she combined to go 16-10 in doubles play with a 11-7 record at No. 1 doubles.

A three-year letterwinner, Davis has posted a 63-26 all-time record in singles matches and currently ranks second in career wins and is fourth in career winning percentage (.708). The sociology major is the first Hawk in program history to be named to the Academic All-Area Team.

Joining Davis on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team are Catherine Austin of Bryn Mawr, Sol Eskenazi of Penn, Rachel Fein of Gwynedd Mercy, Caitlin Fallagher of Haverford and Swarthmore's Katie Samuelson. Fein was also selected Performer of the Year.

The All-Area Team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area
