The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team closed out the 2014 season in the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River. The Hawks had three boats in Saturday's semifinals.

The Freshman 8 finished third in its semifinals, but did not advance further. The Second Varsity 8 placed fourth in the semifinal and also did not advance, while the Varsity 8 was sixth in its semifinal and did not advance.

"I am proud of the way the team competed this morning. Our Freshmen and Second Varsity boats had their most complete races of the season," said head coach Mike Irwin. "The Varsity 8 was in position to advance to the petite final with 750 meters left to go but fell apart with their execution. It was a racing moment where they wish they could go back and get it right. We had a young squad this year with only two seniors. If we are determined and work hard we will be racing here in the afternoon next May."
