PHILADELPHIA - A trio of Saint Joseph's women's tennis players advanced to the semifinals as the Hawks capped the second day of play at the SJU Invitational.

In the top singles flight, Aurora Davis advanced to the semifinals with a pair of victories on the day. After earning a 6-3, 6-2 win in her first match of the day, Davis battled to a 7-5, 3-6, 10-1 win against Saint Francis' Rafaela Pannizza. Davis will begin play in the semifinals at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

After dropping a tough first match, Devi Jadeja rebounded well in the second flight consolation bracket with a 6-4, 7-6 (3) win over Fairfield's Allison Radde to move onto the semifinals tomorrow morning.

Freshman Mary-Margaret Ewens topped Lafayette's Emily Simels in her first match of the fourth singles flight, then rallied after dropping the first set for a 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Loyola's Alexandra to make the semifinals tomorrow morning.

Additionally, SJU's Kelly Mulquin, Sarah Contrata, Kristina Eisenbrand, Claire Minnoe, and Alex Zachem each added wins on the day before eventually falling in their respective brackets.

Matches begin at both the SJU Tennis Complex and Finnesey Courts at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
