PHILADELPHIA - Senior captain Aaron Leskow led the Saint Joseph's men's cross country team with a seventh-place finish (18:54.58) at the Friend Big 5 Invitational 6k on Friday afternoon. Hosted by Temple, the meet took place on SJU's home course of the Belmont Plateau in West Fairmount Park and featured 74 runners out of Saint Joseph's, Temple, La Salle, Penn, and Villanova. The race consisted of six kilometer-long loops.
The meet recognized the life of Roswell Friend, who passed away in the summer of 2011.
Leskow and junior Logan Mohn were in the middle of the pack for a majority of the race but broke through the top 20 in the final third of the race. Mohn checked in with a 16th-place finish in 19:09.40, just missing a top-15 slot .22 seconds.
Redshirt senior Patrick Donnelly rounded out the top five for the Crimson and Gray in 19:18.40, which landed the veteran a 25th-place finish on the day.
James Daniels made his collegiate debut, checking in with a 43rd-place finish (19:39.13).
The Hawks return to action next Saturday at the Meet of Champions. Hosted by Iona College, the meet will be held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y. at 10:15 a.m.
