He earned All-America honors as a junior in 1966... He helped SJU to a 50-8 record over his two-year career and is now tied with Jameer Nelson for career assist average (5.7 apg.)... His 155 assists during 1964-65 season ranked third at the time, currently eighth... He averaged 17.5 points as a junior and 13.3 points as a sophomore... His 1965-66 team was ranked preseason #1 by Sports Illustrated and finished the year 5th in AP poll... In 1964-65 he led SJU to a final ranking of third in the nation... Guokas left SJU after the 1966 season for a career in the NBA as he was selected in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers... He has played, coached and broadcast NBA games since his graduation... As a rookie on Philadelphia 76ers in 1967, he helped them win an NBA Championship... Hails from Philadelphia and graduated from St. Joseph's Prep.
