Bio

He was a three-year starter that helped guide the Hawks to three NCAA Tournaments, including the 1961 Final Four... He helped guide the SJU men's basketball team to win three straight MAC championships from 1961-63... Lynam is a member of the 1,000 point club (1,012)... In 1963, he was named Big 5 MVP and in 1984 his jersey (#4) was retired... He was Named All-East and All-State twice and was a two-time NCAA East Regional All-Tournament team pick... He became head coach at Fairfield (1968-70) and American (1973-78) before returning to Hawk Hill as head coach in 1978... Compiled a 65-28 record from 1978-81, including leading the Hawks to the 1981 NCAA Elite Eight... After his time at SJU he became an NBA coach for 10 seasons with the Clippers, Sixers, and Bullets... He became a member of the Big 5 and SJU Basketball Halls of Fame... Native of Havertown, Pa. and graduate of West Catholic High School.
